California 2014 Day 2

Good morning Pasadena!

Love our classic American motel...

First stop is the Warner Brother's studio tour

Posing with Daffy Duck....

And with Bugs Bunny...

Fake streetscape used in countless TV shows and movies...

Dark, superhero back alley territory... spiderman hung upsidedown here in the pouring rain....

Checking out the fake brick...

Behind the facade...

Superhero spotted....

The iconic Warner Bros. watertower...

Batman and Harry Potter memorabilia inside...

A complete set of Batman cowls from all the Batman movies  ... they sure look uncomfortable!

Harry Potter ... how can this boy be from Slytherin?  And his sister too...

Ahhhhhhh!!!!

Harry Potter clothing

This is the vehicle we were taken around the studio on... in front of trompe l'oeil murals that mimic 3-D perspective

Oldest streetscape on the lot ...

Note the subway entrance to nowhere.....

In countless movies and TV shows.... including Batman - Commissioner Gordon's office!

We were taken into Soundstage 25 (no photos inside allowed) - home of iconic scenes from Casablanca and countless classics... currently the home of The Big Bang Theory which the kids were thrilled to see....

There are 30 sound stages on the lot, all identically coloured to avoid any spats among the movie star set - this is one 'street' of them
Sets from the most popular show in TV history ... Friends.... not a show seen by our family but we couldn't turn down the opportunity to try out the famous couch

First time all Batman movie batmobiles assembled in one place for viewing... not to mention a batcycle, batboat or two!

The Scooby Doo mystery machine!!!

Studio lot entrance

Chicago in California - remember E.R.?

Post-tour gelato - 'Mintalist' and 'Batanama' flavours...

Driving by is as much of Hollywood Boulevard as we could stomach!!                           Grauman's Chinese Theatre

Superman and Spiderman conferring...

Oh, and we even saw Michael...

The film certain individuals are dying to see.....

We missing photographing the iconic HOLLYWOOD sign but we did spot a lone 'H' in Glendale!

Glendale Whole Foods for some sushi lunch

Certain travellers wanted to check out the selection at the local Toys R Us....

And of course the Lego store....

Been saving all summer for this....

Ta Da!

Post-build swim - that's two of us in the pool!

Can't get enough of the stupendous palms

Managed a drive-by of the spectacular Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles....

And finally,... an all-American dinner....
